Update: I hope no-one already downloaded Version 4. Somehow a mistake snuck in through Sketchup, which I noticed after printing. Version 5 is now upgraded and fixed. ....... This is a hardcase for a 3DConnexion 3D Mouse, some call it "the Puck". I needed to create a case, that relieved the springs of the "puck" from being pushed and worn, when I take this mouse along on travels, in my backpack. The case needs to be outfitted with 1mm thick foam on the inside, so that the mouse is held in there by pressure fit.(the yellow stuff in the photos, I didn't have one nice large piece, which would look much nicer). The case does not touch the "floating puck", it sits on the ring around the puck, which definitely needs the foam, so that the case does not scratch the plastic. The 3D mouse is traction fit in there. Through the front hole, you can see the logo and it gives you access to simply pull the mouse out of the case. No bottom is needed to keep it simple, light and as small as possible. Thoughts about the design and possible improvements This is Version 5 of the design, but it is by no means perfect (I would have liked to have rounded over some of the sharp edges). Hopefully, the edge around the hole around the cable access isn't too short for the cable. Maybe someone can come up with a better solution around that, maybe even an integrated solution to wrap the cable around. A little lip at the bottom on the inside may also give it a bit of a "click fit", but that's something that could be experimented with.
