https://youtu.be/aoP-KY9TgfM Three computer fans, each 40x40mm in size, work together to hold a mirror at a slight angle with the motor shaft. A beam from a 5-volt laser pen diode strikes the first mirror at an angle of 45 degrees. The beam then bounces off two other mirrors, creating a complex path before escaping through a small opening and projecting intricate Lissajous patterns onto a wall or ceiling. Three distinct speeds are achieved by individually controlling each fan with three 555 PWM circuits, allowing for the creation of unique math-based art. To optimize performance, aim to hit the mirrors squarely in the middle. One effective method is adjusting the distance between the mirror and motor shaft by adding multiple layers of double-sided adhesive foam tape between the fan and mirror. Alternatively, modifying the thickness of the disk can also achieve a precise fit. To facilitate these adjustments, an Open SCAD file for the disk is attached.
