3mm to 1.75mm filament converter

I love my new extruder on my SteelBug (https://solar1.net/drupal/Steel_Bug). But I have dozens of 3mm filament in various colors. This machine was built to convert (re-extrude) my 3mm fil to a 1.75mm fil. The bottom spool in this picture is an existing roll and was just placed there for demo purposes. Instructions This was made from 1" square steel tubing from the hardware store. this could easily be constructed with aluminium extrusion but steel tubing is cheap, and I weld. The extruder is mounted on 1/4" steel plate welded to the tubing. The extruder is from an old printer and is controled by some old Thingomatic electronics. Basically set you temp based on abs/PLA in replicatorG and manually extrude for a long time. TODO:: My receiving spool may need a stepper driver to wind up the output. That will have to be for a future date. For now I just babysit the machine.
