Welcome to the Developers library for the 3UDC clip system and the 156DTmm display tree.

Both of these systems involves lots of components and I wanted to put parts and information needed to create things in a non-end user library.

These are links to associated libraries

156DT Display Tree Library (tower parts)

3UDC Accessory Library (3UDC Connector Accessories)

PrusaPrinters COLLECTION Library of KitCard Platforms (platforms for Kitcards)

Thingiverse COLLECTION Library of KitCard Platforms (platforms for Kitcards)

3UDC and 155DT Developers Library (This Library)

Kit Card Tree Parts and the 3UDC pivot platform (kit card tree and the 3UDC swivel)

In this library you will find dimensions, STL's you can import and other information. I look forward to what people come up with.

3UDC clip

The 3UDC clip is 3mm wide. The clip can be printed flat on ether side, standing up, or on its top with no supports. This is possible because the socket supports the clip being on the top or the right side. 3UDC has a 1.6mm wall on the top and sides, the base can be whatever thickness you need.

The tolerance on the 3UDC system is applied to the socket. By default .4mm was built in. While a little on the wider side of tolerance, I chose it as the default so most user may get usable results without tinkering. Unfortunately putting the clips on the outside of the socket means the tolerance is in the formula for the clip design. The clip gap has to take into account the wall thickness.

The sockets print upright or on their face with no supports. They can print on their left side on printers that have good bridging attributes using the default tolerance. A little center support if required.

The socket holds the weight of the content, not the clip… so no suspending things with clip entrance facing downward.

156DT

The 156DT is a 15.6mm modular tower. Display tower can accommodate the 3UDC socket, pinned wheels, bowls, trays etc.

The tower. The original design was just the round pin with the wedge to give some tension and present spinning. At 15.6mm bridging was nominal on the holes however the inconsistency varied between materials making for mixed results. The wedge was added to the top. This cuts directly into the bridge area.. the wedge does nothing operationally, but it has to exist in the hole, on the wedge and on accessories to go over the hub.

5UDC Clip

I am adding some 5mm clips. These are 5mm wide instead of 3. You can see I used these extensions with the 5mm to 3mm adapter to pose the Kit Card Planes in front of the tower.

** Other than the adapter 5UDC to 3UDC the sockets and clips are NOT interchangeable. They just share the same design attributes.
