Padure has once been a lush forest world when humanity colonised it hundreds of years ago. The bounty of naturalis now known as the Hunger Wars. Decades of conflict left thousands of children without parents and decimated the population on Padure. They no longer faced food shortages but a parent famine, with an entire generation raised in orphanages and then working in the fields far too early.  It was against this backdrop of loss and hardship that Sofia had grown up with a deep lust for adventure and a fearless resolve. Growing up without parents meant there was no-one to protect you but yourself, and so she had learned to fight the hard way. One day, when Padure was raided by pirates she stowed away on their ship and escaped her home planet.  Once discovered, she was marooned on an automated mining planet called Aeox with nothing but the clothes on her back. She managed to survive for two weeks before stumbling upon the camp of Captain Swift and his pirate crew. Half starved, she still put up an impressive fight and it was this fiery nature that convinced Swift to welcome her into his crew. After years of dedicated service, and demonstrating a keen intelligence well suited to piracy, she was promoted to First Mate.  Sofia Bonny is part of the Space Pirates collection, which was first available on our Patreon channel in April 2021.
