My shop is small so rather than hard-piping my tools to my dust collector I use a single 4" flexible hose and move it from tool to tool. This design connects a standard flexible 4" dust collector hose to the 4" port of a woodworking tool. In my case each tool's "4" inch port was slightly different. However, with one to three layers of duct tape I was able to get a good fit. When fit properly this design can be slid on to the tool's dust port and it will stay on. Only moderate force is required to pull this design off the tool.
