This was designed to have a 4" diameter duct clamped onto one end and have 1" magnets button magnets glued in the recesses to allow for quick attachment and removal of the duct from a ferrous surface. The original purpose of this design was to pump filtered air from a high volume purifier into an intake port of a machine to assist with cooling without flooding the system with particulate matter. The magnets used were strong enough to have batting fabric pressed between the adapter and the surface and still hold the weight of the aluminum duct without sliding down the back of the machine or falling off.
