Design frequency 5705MHz Number of turns 4 Turn spacing .23 wavelengths For information on the this antenna design go to http://jcoppens.com/ant/helix/calc.en.php and input the information above. I FPV at 5705Mhz, however this would work fine at 5.8 Ghz Gain is 9.39 dBi I printed in PLA Reflector is a single sided PCB I used a 40mm hole saw with the pilot bit removed. I uploaded the Sketchup file if anyone needs to modify it. as a learn more about RF, my antenna designs change. I have now uploaded a 6 turn helix antenna with minimal support. I didn't even need to tune that one it came in at a 1-1.02 SWR with my homemade IBCrazy SWR meter. I eventually gave up trying to tune this one as the best i could do was a 1-2.1 SWR. I know now that was due to the wave trap design i was using. However be aware that that plastic has a constant of between 1 and 4 and will de-tune your antenna a bit ( I believe it shifts the frequency down by about 4 or 5 %) moving forward I will be uploading more antennas with less material supporting the helix, as those seem to work better, at least for me.
