40mm-EDF Jet

40mm-EDF Jet

This is a work in progress, where I will be uploading the wings first. I noticed that there were no EDF 3d printable rc planes, and not many park flyer class, smaller planes available for 3d printing. So I decided to make my own... It's harder than it looks. The Right wing, with no control surfaces took about 12 hours to design for example. I hope to make a 40mm EDF, following no particular plane design, and move to larger ones as my skills improve. I want this to still be fully featured though, hopefully with flaps and retracts. DEFINITELY 4 CHANNEL MINIMUM. With the planned power system, it should have a thrust to weight ratio of about 40%, and be able to push the 100mph threshold. The hope is to go over 100, but I don't know if that will happen. It should also have a decent glide slope for an edf, thanks to the higher than usual lift wings made with NACA aerofoils. I hope to have the project done for summer flying season, but I can't be sure. If it is done, I will try to take the design to MRRF next year, Flight Fest this year, and possibly ERRF next year.
