40mm Fan Adapters Version 2 with Solidworks 2014 Source
thingiverse
After almost exactly two years, I decided to revisit my fan adapters and completely redesign them from scratch (keeping in mind that I was going to include the source code) to make it much simpler for you to modify the source however you want. I also reinforced the walls slightly to improve print quality and switched to a revolved extrude with cut-outs, allowing users to create thicker walls or more complex angles if needed. These fan adapters convert fans of various sizes (25mm thick) to fit on standard 40mm x 10mm fan connectors, significantly reducing noise levels while producing higher CFM airflow than any single 40mm fan can achieve. The extra tall versions for 120mm, 92mm, and 80mm fans ensure that even more airflow passes through. By using the source code, you can easily adjust the throat length by modifying the feature labeled "Throat Length Here." I opted not to use a mathematically driven calculation, choosing instead to simplify things for users; after all, it's easy enough to make such minor adjustments directly in the code.
