UPDATED FILES on 8/11/2016 Reinforced mounting holes for bracket and fan. Shorter versions available (shortened by 1.0 mm in height) for those with clearance issues. Confirmed fit on V2.1's shipped July 2016 and after. IMPORTANT NOTE: Use the gcode files if possible, sometimes the stl files are not scaled correctly when imported to different slicer programs. This model is not optimized in anyway. it was a crude mock up of an idea I had. I printed it and knowticed drastic improvements in my prints and have not modified it since this version. I have a new design I plan on optimizing and doing an analysis on soon. This is a modification for the stock 40mm extrusion cooling fan on the wanhao duplicator I3 PLUS. This mod has been a confirmed fit for the new v2.1's shipped in July 2016 and after. Unknown fit for early v2.1 models and others. This mount features a design that allows for open access to one side of the nozzle (the left side with the wiring) for bed leveling, wiring checks and good visual sight. If you printed this for other versions please give feed back so I can note that it fits for your version or I can make an edit. Print Settings Printer: Duplicator I3 PLUS Notes: I did not use supports/rafts and I also used lower quality settings with a fast print speed and a layer height of 0.3 mm (suggested 80% infill which for this model is irrelevant depending on how thick your layer settings are on). I would suggest throwing some supports on it if you want it to look really nice, otherwise it can do with out. I would also suggest printing with the base of the object on the build plate (how it sits in real life). SCALE: ENSURE THE SCALE IS CORRECT BEFORE YOU PRINT!! Even though it should be correct without having to edit the scale, make sure yours is correct. If you are printing this for use on the Duplicator i3 plus, make sure the scale in CURA or other slicer is the following: 90.9664mm , 50.8549mm , 44.831mm (Depending on how the object is oriented it could be measured in different x,y,z planes. Just make sure you have those three dimensions.) Post-Printing Application with screws (stock and alternative) NOTE: The files have been updated to have reinforced screw holes, the exacto knife method may not work so self setting screws may be required. The stock screws that come standard on the printer will work, however you will need to take an exacto knife (or other blade) and round out the holes just a slight bit to help the screws get started. BE CAREFUL NOT TO ROUND THEM OUT TOO MUCH! Try a little bit at a time, and make sure to apply force when trying to start the screw. I would suggest doing this before attempting to attach it to the printer. -Looking at the picture, insert the knife and turn clockwise & anti-clockwise to round off the top part of the hole. THE BETTER WAY: Get some self setting screws, the kind with the pointy end. Avoid the above.
