EDIT 2/16/2019: The first prototype worked surprisingly well, the current upload is a second version I will be using now. It has sturdier screw mounts, and the cutouts for heater wires have been moved and enlarged. Fusion archive and .STEP files have been added for your convenience. EDIT 2/23/2019: Minor changes so wire cutouts no longer clip through the body. Back side was pushed further away from heat block to prevent melting. This is the final revision, enjoy! BOM - 3 M3 x 25 screws - 4 M3 x 15/25 screws (dependant on fan depth) - 1 Axial case fan, 40x40x10, or 40x40x20 Once again I seem to have encountered an age old problem: Upgrade to a cool new extruder, get it assembled, realize none of your cooling fan ducts fit. Print more out and find out those don't fit either. Proceed with tears or anger as necessary. Joking aside, when I upgraded to an e3d Titan Aero setup with 713Maker Ultralight carriage I discovered all the fan mounts seemed to be intended for the stock stepper motor, rather than the e3d Slimline motor. My attempts at remixing another duct failed pretty miserably, so I present to you my own. This cooling fan duct is intended to be easy to print and easy to install. Print in the default orientation. Supports shouldn't be necessary, but may be helpful for the hot side openings. Use "Supports on Buildplate Only" in this case. Channels on the inside will help with bridging on the top of the duct. This duct sports a generous clearance with the heatblock to prevent melting, and provides notches for the heater cartridge/thermistor cables. The design has been finalized, source files and STL have been included for your convenience.
