40mm vertical fan mount (next to RAMPS board, rostock-mini)

thingiverse

I decided to mount a 40mm fan vertically next to my RAMPS board under the acrylic base of my rostock-mini to blow across the stepper drivers. This is a simple "L" bracket that lets you mount a 40mm fan vertically on a flat surface. It has 4 holes for the fan, but the STL file DOES NOT have mounting holes for the bracket itself. You can either add them usng OpenSCAD, or just drill directly through the bracket and whatever you are mounting it to so the holes line up exactly. Instructions Print. I used 2.5mm screws and nuts to mount the fan after drilling out the fan mounting holes slightly, but you could also use self tapping wood screws of the appropriate size. Drill holes through the L part of the bracket and whatever you are mounting it to to get an exact match, or add them to the STL file using OpenSCAD.
