The moon has been an object of amazement since the beginning of time. The Stonehenge and the Pyramids were build around the sun, moon, and stars. Now you can add it to your very own Stonehenge or Pyramid. Or perhaps you will plunge back into history and make your very own monolith lost to the modern world. What ever you decide to create, from an ancient monument to a modern home, the moon will add realism and natural light to your render. This moon is made to the highest standards. It includes two separate shaders. One of the shaders is for showing the moon from the earth like the image above. The other shader is for making renders of the earth from space. Why make two different shaders? Well when you look at the moon from the earth to see the light of the moon through the atmosphere of the earth which varies the color of the moon and the haze. Not only this but also the moon's phases, which are caused by the sun's light hitting only one side of the moon, would not work when displaying the moon in a landscape. Imagine you had a night scene like the one above and you wanted to make the moon a half moon. You would then add in a sun lamp and position it so that the light only hits one side of the moon. You go to render it and the whole scene is completely lit because of the sun lamp. This problem is solved with my separate shader which emits light in only certain areas on the moon. Also this moon has the option to change color so you can make a apocalyptic red moon or a rare strawberry moon. This detail expands your possible applications and thus your creativity.
