I took the "C_battery_holder_8.stl" from the source project and removed the inner 4x batteries so it only holds 4 batteries. I then took that model and scaled it by 135% and now it fits D batteries. The photo is the print I made of it holding 4x D batteries. If you want an 8x D battery holder, take the model from the source project and scale it by 135%.
