Ashley and his sister Non were orphaned as children when their parents were tragically murdered by bandits along a remote outpost near Ravenport. Ashley and his sister wandered for days and were near starvation when a witch in the bogs found them. She cared for and raised the children as if they were her own, believing there is a need to balance in nature she taught them in both light and dark arts of primal and occult magic. However, magistrates from a local village blamed the witch and her brood for an unusually long winter and the disappearance of some local children and hired a band of adventurers dispatch the remote family. The adventurers murdered the witch and our duo found themselves fleeing once again. Bent on avenging the murder of their adopted mother they threw themselves into the dark arts in a misguided attempt to rid the region of the village and bring nature back to alpha status only to find a more dangerous threat lurking the nearby swamps.
