This is a project my son and I designed and made while he was on school holidays. It is a small troughing conveyor with a 100mm wide 1.5mm thick insertion rubber belt. There is a on/off switch and variable speed control located at the head drum. The vaiable speed is made possible by a small 2A PWM module located inside the head shaft assembly. The conveyor is powered by a small 12v 90rpm right angle gearmotor (with 6mm diameter output shaft) and a 2A 12v wall power adapter. The design uses 4 6301-2RS deep groove ball bearings and a handful of fasteners. Your printer will need to be tuned fairly well, as the fits and tolerances in this project are reasonably neat. I suggest you perform a test print to ensure the hole diameters are as accurate as possible. This appears as "Hole Horizontal Expansion" in the Cura slicer software. The main beam is a piece of 50mmx25mmx3mm aluminium RHS. The wiring is integrated into the RHS main beam and is routed through the head shaft internally. Some experience in low voltage wiring and soldering is necessary to complete this project. The belt is spliced by making a clean cut (using a new stanley knife blade) across the belt ends at 30 degrees. Then overlap the belt ends 25mm. The overlapping surfaces will need half their thickness removed (on the sides which will touch each other). Note which way the belt will be installed, and ensure that the splice made will not create a leading edge which can be caught in operation.Carefully make another cut halfway through the belt thickness until the fabric insertion (reinforcing fabric) is visible. Then simply peel the excess rubber from the surfaces. Apply shoe glue (or similar product made to join rubber) to the exposed fabric patches and clamp the belt together, using timber to apply pressure across the splice. Ensure that the belt is glued straight to prevent unnecessary tracking issues. I will be putting together a (non printed) parts list soon. If there is a strong need for guidance on the assembly or wiring of this, I will try to put together an assembly guide. Please be patient. I am a very busy person and this is only being uploaded in the hopes someone enjoys the project.
