5-1/4" DRIVE BAYS FOR SLIM CDROM, USB AND COMPACT FLASH

I designed these for my old computer and decided to make different versions for others to use. They have a slim/laptop CD-ROM, Compact Flash card reader and USB connector all on one single 5-1/4" drive bay. This is especially useful for old computers with only one free drive bay. Mounting dimensions and front plate are the same as a typical CD-ROM drive. The IBM hatch is installed with two M2x12 screws as hinges. Use four 5x5x1 magnets in the square indentations to help hold the door closed. The laptop CD-ROM is practical because they usually support drive speed reduction in software which reduces noise (to save power in laptops) and they are usually quieter than the big drives and very cheap. You need an adaptor to connect them to regular IDE cables though. To get USB on an old computer buy an ISA USB adapter like this and extend the port to the bay with a cable: https://ebay.us/QvmUTT Many different CF adapters can fit. This is one of the ones I specifically designet it for: https://ebay.us/ec0L2x CD-CF-usb-01-IBM is a version for old IBM cases that looks like the drive bay cover when the hatch is closed. CD-CF-usb-02-IBMhatch is the hatch for the above part. CD-CF-usb-03-USBscrews is for using a USB cable with a panel mount: https://ebay.us/wjtgdB CD-CF-usb-04-USBPCB is for using standard USB-A PCB connectors clampet to the plastic drive bay: https://ebay.us/3FccBp
