The Portland Class were a pair of heavy cruisers built for the United States Navy in 1930.    USS Portland served in many engagements of the war where in spite of being severely damaged she survived the war.   USS Indianapolis served as a fleet flagship for much of the war. In July 19455 she transported components for the Nuclear Weapons from the united states and was torpedoed by I-58 on the return from this mission.  This model is designed in the 1/1800 scale but can be printed in 1/2400 scale without appreciable loss of detail. The model comes as several STL files, one for the ships’ Hull and multiple sprues for the Bridge, turrets, cranes etc. There are two sprues for the turrets, one has the turret barrels horizontal whilst the other has the barrels elevated to show the ship in combat. We have tested a few of our designs at two additional scales: 1/3000 and 1/1200 which have all turned out really well. At 1/3000 scale though some components are very small and require additional patience when assembling.
