I was in need of a mini monitor to use with my laptop to show system information whilst gaming at LAN events, so brought myself the 5" Adafruit HDMI Backpack. Initially I transported it in the padded bag it came in and used a phone stand to hold it, but this quickly became a hassle. I looked online for cases for the backpack, but none of them provided protection for the screen. Also, I wanted it to be raised up so it would match the height of my laptop's screen when on it's own stand. So, I went about designing a case and this is the result. **The monitor consists of 4 unique parts:** * 1x Cover * 1x Front Bezel * 1x Back * 2x Arm **Components needed:** * 1x 5" HDMI Backpack (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2260) * 1x Mini Power Switch for brightness adjust (https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/spdt-mini-power-switch) * 8x M2.5x12 Screws to attach the arms * 4x M3x6 Screws to attach the back and monitor to the front bezel Once assembled, the cover piece acts both as protection for the screen and a stand when unfolded. In the unfolded position the bottom of the screen is just over 10cm from the surface, and has a 5 degree upwards tilt. When closed, a clip that is part of the cover keeps it shut. Note that unlike some cases I've seen this does not include its own battery. Instead it is intended to be powered from USB. I have been using this monitor for about a year now and it has been great! Being able to quickly fold it up and shove it in a bag has made it a regular addition to my portable gaming setup.
