I've been using Tunnelcake's simple 5015 fan adaptor for a while now, and it works extremely well - even allowing for the MicroSwiss hotend on my Ender 3. But there is one niggle with it that drives me bonkers: Every so often the fan body collides with the X-Belt mounting screw. When this happens, it has a nasty habit of dislodging the fan away from the duct, thereby reducing (or even preventing) the part cooling airflow. I've been hoping that Tunnelcake would read his comments regarding the issue, and update the design. But it hasn't happened yet. So I got fed up waiting, and decided to create an interim solution. I didn't want to mess about reverse engineering the whole stl so that I could modify it (I've mentioned before that my ancient copy of Sketchup 8 - the last PC-based free one :P - refuses to import stl files), so I decided to knock out a small adaptor to reposition the fan instead. It glues into the original design, and allows the fan to be canted over to clear the offending bolt when the X-axis nears the end of its travel. I've been using this mod for a little while now, and it seems to work well, with no adverse effects to the airflow. Many thanks to Tunnelcake for his original design. I hope you'll all pop along and give him a like to show appreciation for his work. He's definitely got a fan in me! Happy Printing.
