EDIT 2017-04-21 I'd like to thank WashingtonApple for helping me resolve an issue with the opening of the 50mm fan being undersized. I've adjusted the vertical distance to 51mm, allowing for sagging and variations in printed size versus modeled size. The revised file is now Active_Duct_v3a_fixed. To ensure clean rendering, I parsed the model through Netfabb and re-imported it into S3D. This extensive redesign was done with great care over many hours to accommodate a 50mm fan in Replicator 1 / Duplicator 4 / FlashForge / CTC printers. It's tailored specifically for my Flash Forge Creator Pro, but should also work seamlessly with other models within the original dimensions of v2 Active Duct. I designed this modification to quiet down my printer. I've already upgraded most fans on both extruders and PSU to Gelid Silent fans. Additionally, I've modded my FFCP to have a 24vdc -> Adjustable vdc transformer and will be running a Gelid Silent 5 50mm 12v fan at about 6 volts. The specifications for the Gelid Silent 5 (50mm) are impressive: 12.9CFM @ 12v @ 0.15Amp @ 23 dBA @ 4000rpm. The Paps 414F fans, used by Thruit00, are rated at 4.7CFM @ 24v @ 22.1 dBA @ 5400rpm. To summarize, a 50mm fan underdriven will be quieter yet flow more air, assuming we get a linear drop in output.
