Idea

I needed a new lens cap for my lens and tried to challenge myself to desing a one piece one that has built in springs. This is the result of that.

Printing

The print is fairly self explanatory, just print it with the logo side down without any support. BUT this is a print with close tolerances, so be sure wall thickness and bridging is dialed in. Also if your supports are normally hard to remove you might have problems with this print.

Post printing

After printing it might require some slight force and pliers to break apart, depending on how well your printer handles the gap between the spring part and the cap itself. Try to push the two buttons in by hand at first. Flex the cap a bit, you should be able to hear the two parts seperating. If it doesn't move try gently wiggling the buttons back and forth/side to side/ twisting with some pliers. Printed with the more flexible PETG you should be able to seperate the two parts fully by bending the cap a bit, although I don't recommend doing that.

Remix

I added the step if you want to modify it yourself or want a different size. I also may add some remixed sizes in the future, just mesage me, what size you want :)

Edit

Added the two parts of the lens cap as seperated STLs by request.
