6.5 ccm sleeve valve engine

grabcad

First version of a 6,5 cc glow (.40 cubic inch) four stroke engine using Burt McCollum sleeve valve technology which was largely used during World War II in british aircraft engines (e.g. Napier Sabre, Bristol Hercules and others). For this first trial a set of 2 intake / 2 exhaust ports was used, placing the carburettor behind a the exhaust pipe in front of the cylinder. The ball bearings are SKF type, the pinion blanks available at http://www.maedler.ch. I really wonder if it works....
