The Scharnhorst class of battleship were the first capital ships built by the Kriegsmarine and entered service in 1939. Originally these ships were to be refitted with 15” guns but this never took place. Both ships were lost in the war, Gneisenau sunk as a block ship whilst Scharnhorst was sunk in a surface action with the Royal Navy. This model is designed in the 1/1800 scale but can be printed in 1/2400 scale without appreciable loss of detail. The model comes as two STL files, one for the ships Hull and the other for the turrets, cranes etc.
