My original filament spool holder broke - but I liked the threaded-rod and clamps I made - so I needed something that would hold a 16mm (5/8" OD) axle that my filament turns on. This is sized for 1/2" Sched 40 PVC for the legs and 5/8" for the pivot point. In my-case it's a 3d printed threaded nut that all-thread goes into. I may update with end-pieces if I find I need them for the bottom - rather than cutting the PVC at an angle. I think I have this designed just right for printing - in my case I did not need any supports and only a little clean-up on the inside. It's a snug, but not super tight fit. UPDATED: 2019-01-17 Added Rev4 which is a bit tighter. Depending on your printer the v2 version may be a bit too loose. Added the 16mm spacers I used which will thread onto 3/8" all-thread. You can guy 3/8" all-thread at the big-box stores for cheap. The Metric all-thread is expensive. I chased the threads with a tap to clean them up - they spin very nicely. I decided not to print end-pieces. I just printed 2 extra brackets so I can make a small stand. This gives me some options for the new filament holder. I'll update with pics of the final filament holder when completed.
