This is a clock that uses a 60 led ring, showcasing the versatility of modern home decor. Two ssd1306 OLED 128x32 screens are employed to display inside temperature through a DS18b20 temp sensor and outside weather data from my weather station with precision. The SSD1306 library is sourced from ThingPulse's esp8266-oled-ssd1306, a reliable resource for any enthusiast. The Led ring is acquired from eBay, specifically the Ring Wall Clock 60 WS2812 Super Bright 5050 RGB LED Lamp Panel For Arduino USA, an ideal choice for this project. The mcu of choice is the D1 Mini, renowned for its reliability and efficiency. The other necessary libraries are easily downloaded through the Arduino IDE Manage Libraries menu, streamlining the development process. The stls were expertly crafted using Sketchup, with a possible post-processing step in netfabb to repair any defects. These should print flawlessly when face down and flat on the printer bed. The hour tick marks, logo, and stand are securely attached via super glue after printing them separately. The LEDs that light up the "DON'T PANIC" phrase utilize a space 1/4 led ring, an innovative solution to replace the initially intended RGB led due to its inadequate brightness. This project was inspired by the Wol-Clock-ESP8266-12E-60-LED-WS2812B-Analogue-Digi tutorial on Instructables, which served as a starting point for the clock time implementation. The design has been modified to accommodate the specific requirements of the OLED screens used in this build.
