<p>Why replace the entire idler for about $6 USD when you can buy a pack of ten (10) new bearings for about $10 USD and replace the bearing in the idler for $1 USD each time. Both can be performed by threading a 3mm rod through and compressing, or using a pressfit vise, or a small hammer. The key is printing the parts at 100% infill so they will not compress. Bearing insertion must press against the outer rim of the bearing to avoid damage. With bearing removal, it is not a concern since the bearing is old and will be discarded.</p><p> </p>
