6mm Square Hole Water Key

6mm Square Hole Water Key

This is a 6mm square hole key typically used for operating water taps in publicly-accessible places such as a front yard. This is also known as a "anti-vandal key". It does its job, feels nice when you hold it in your hand and has one hole for attaching it to a key chain or any sort of string. The outside diameter of the shaft is 12mm. I printed it with 100% infill but 80% or so may work as well. On my Prusa MK2S the print takes approximately one hour with 0.2mm layers and a standard 0.4mm nozzle. The model is small enough anyway that increasing the infill percentage to the maximum will only increase print time by a few minutes. So go crazy with infill and make the key very strong. I print it with the opening of the square hole against the print bed. Support structures are only needed for the "wings" of the key. The Prusa slicer with standard settings decided to not add supports for the square hole or for the key chain hole, and it all turned out very nice.
