6mm Standoff-Mounted SMA Antenna Bracket

6mm Standoff-Mounted SMA Antenna Bracket

Howdy, Pilots! I created an antenna mount to go on my Martian II frame and thought I would share. My reasons for creating this mount were: 1) To not have my SMA/antenna fouling on the top plate of my martian, when this bracket is mounted at the top of the standoffs (as pictured). The other design I found that fit these fatter standoffs, projected the antenna/SMA up at a 45 degree angle, which fouled the nut and washers on the top plate. 2) To have a low profile antenna mount capable of mounting on wider-than-stock 6mm standoffs. For my frame build I used orange 6mm diameter, 30mm tall standoffs, as pictured. These are slightly wider than the stock purple Martian and Alien standoffs and can be picked up in a variety of colours from Banggood. The antenna mounting hole is 6.35mm in diameter and is a snug fit for the SMA extension cable I used. It will also fit most VTx's directly should you not want to use an extension. The mount projects the antenna/SMA connector out the back of the quad, parallel with the top and bottom plates. A flexible RH/LHCP antenna is advised to achieve proper signal projection. Edit - 07/12/18: Added an altered mount at the request of a user. Has 30.5mm centres. Same standoff diameter requirement (6mm). Same mount dimensions.
