He was the first Vice President and second President of the United States of America. He was from Massachusetts, making him the only non-Virginian out of the first five presidents. He was the first president to live inside of the White House even before the house was completed. Out of the first five presidents he was the only one who wasn’t a slaveholder. The White House was burned down in 1814 by the British during the War of 1812. Which helped gain the American independence. Impact on America/ Significance President John Adams was the second President of the United States. He was also the only non-slaveholding President out of the first 5 Presidents and as well he was the only non-Virginian. John Adams was the first President to live in the White House. The White House is one of the most historic buildings in the United States. Every single president, except for George Washington, has lived under this roof.
