7th Continent (7C) Scaled Dice Tower

thingiverse

This is a remix of a compact and collapsible dice tower. This one has been scaled down slightly in one direction in order to be less than 80mm wide. This allows it to fit in the card trays of the board game the 7th Continent along with the 80mm x 80mm cards. While dice rolling is not prominent in the 7th Continent, the player often has to draw a random card from a small deck. Rather than trying to shuffle two cards, I use a single D6 dice roll in order to randomize card draws from decks of cards size two up to six. The game includes eight mini D6 dice, and I usually do not need all eight for game play, so I use one for card rolls. For two cards I do Odds and Evens; for three cards I pair the rolls as (1&4), (2&5), and (3&6); for four cards I re-roll on 5 and 6; and for five cards I re-roll on 6. For larger decks I have the cards sleeved and shuffle the cards before drawing. As in the original, you don't need support material inside the dice tower to print the two ledges, though you'll want supports at the main opening.
