HMS Lark 1744 44 guns frigate. Hms lark is destined for North America. On July 14th the Glorioso had fallen in at the Azores with the Lark (44), Captain John Crookshanks, and Warwick (60), Captain Robert Erskine. Glorious on the port side of the Lark, against which she fired all the cannons on the starboard side knocking down one of her masts. After the attack, John Crookshanks ordered to separate from the Glorious. For this fiasco, John Crookshanks, who was the senior officer, was cashiered.
