8-Blade Propeller for E-2 Hawkeye Scale Models

This is designed to be used on 1/144 scale models of the E-2 Hawkeye from brands like Revell, Heller, Ace, and Academy. Can be adjusted for larger scales as well. These kits are all designed with the original 4-blade props, but modern aircraft have been upgraded to use 8-blade Hamilton Sundstrand props. These props have a distinct appearance and are instantly recognizable Since the Hawkeye is one of my favorite aircraft I wanted to build several of them and I thought it would be a smart idea to model and print my own since options available to buy are a bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. This was designed using reference photos online and rough measurements from the RetroWings/RetroKit resin parts available here: https://retrokitonline.net/product/8-blade-e-2c-hawkeye-propellers. If you dont have access to a 3D printer the kits they sell are pretty great and since the blades are separate from the hub you have more flexibility in positioning them. In the attached photos you can see my completed model with the RetroWings props and my new design beside them for comparison. This model isn't intended to be a 100% accurate reproduction but is designed to look correct on small-scale models. There are two files provided: The basic option is designed to be glued to the front of the engine cowl in a fixed position. The second option has a peg designed to fit in the model like the factory piece and allows the blades to spin if you blow on them (some sanding may be required to properly adjust the fit).
