8020 10-Series Extrusion Drop-in Nut

Inspired by rlspell's http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17194, this drop-in has been modeled from scratch to fit all 8020 Series 10 extrusions. This nut can be dropped in and locked in place with a #10 screw.Safety Disclaimer: This is only for non-structural applications such as attaching panels or connecting self-supporting frames. Do not use for weight bearing structures (like shelving). Genuine 8020 hardware is readily available from distributors or on ebay (look for 8020inc) and I use it extensively. Instructions Built with PLA on a Makerbot Replicator 2 with the following settings Infill 100% Shells 1 Layer 0.2mm Extrude speed 80mm/sec Travel speed 150mm/sec Use with either #10 self-tapping plastic screws or, as I did, drill out with a #25 drill bit and tap with a 10-24 tap. UPDATE: I ran a few of these using the new Taulman 645 nylon and they are awesome! Very strong and the threads will not strip out. Unfortunately you can't successfully run this material on your Rep2 without making a few...um...adjustments....
