This adapter was designed to allow us to replace the OEM 80mm fans that came with our 2U Supermicro server with standard 80mm fans. You can check out the entire build, including how we installed them in our YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/rbTx0-ZjXGE Our choice of replacement fans were Noctua NF-N8 PWM (12v) with a max RPM of 2200. We reused the screws that held the original retention clips for the OEM fans, so no additional hardware was needed, however YMMV with all of this - your server chassis might be different!
