An affordable (and good quality) vacuum tube amplifier, in SET (Single Ended Triode) circuit, using tubes still in production (in China & Russia), or available as New Old Stock; approximately 8-10 Watts obtainable from single 811A output tube, running in A2 class, at moderate (<400 V) plate voltages, and running conservatively (72-80% dissipation), with SMPS for filaments & solid state diodes for B+ rail- see schematics attached...And music played with plenty of details & fast transients, that only Thoriated Tungsten filaments can pull out...(this is not my opinion, but the author of the original schematics...) At any rate, no need to fall for 300B hype, at 10x the price...Many thanks to Andrew Whitham for 6SN7 & octal socket models
