Parts to assemble a photo backdrop or green screen holder from extendable broom handles. The resulting vertical bars are clamped between floor and ceiling. Different foot designs provide additional tension if required, and protect floor and ceiling from damage. The horizontal bar holds with the use of pipe clamps. I haven't tested the strength of the setup to maximum <s>but it can hold 3kg of cloth</s>. Because it's made from broom stick, it seems a bit flimsy but does what it's made for. Might double as a cloth line but not tested. ### Why Occasionally, I need a backdrop to take pictures but the sets I found seem to be quite expensive. Also I like the process of creating the frame on my own. ### Design Details This green screen holder consists of two vertical bars and one horizontal bar. All bars are created from broom handles that are connected with printable parts. The vertical bars hold by being squeezed between floor and ceiling. Some feet can be printed to reduce or avoid damage on floor and ceiling. These feet are available in four versions. There's the choice between a spiked surface and a flat surface. Both are available with or without spring tensioners. The spring tensioners are intended to provide a little bit more pressure for the bar to hold better. The feet are probably best printed in TPU to give them a little bit more flex and to avoid damage surfaces touched. Felt pads can be attached on the flat foot if needed. Because the springs take a little bit more space, the size of the foot designed for use with springs is different from the foot that doesn't use springs. To accommodate for a round broom handle end a spring plate with a recess for that round end is available. As well as one for a flat broom stick end. The horizontal bar is connected to the vertical bar with pipe clamps. Alternatively to the broom handles, a wooden stick can be used. There's also the option to have a narrower setup that needs only one broom handle. On decommissioning of the green screen holder, or if the photo backdrop is temporarily not used, all used broom handles can be reused as broom handles. The feet are made for a rod diameter of 25 mm and have a diameter of 60mm. The pipe clamp is designed for a stick diameter of NN mm. ### Printing Instructions Foot Print foot with flat surface or with spiked surface down. Part can be scaled according to used broom diameter. Material recommended: TPU. Infill 20% cubic, 2 wall lines. More infill and more walls makes the foot stiffer, less infill and fewer walls make the foot more flexible. Handle connector Print upright. Material recommended: PLA. If harsher (warmer) environment is expected, then stronger material might be need. Infill 30% cubic, 3 wall lines for more strength. Spring Pad Material recommended: PLA. If harsher (warmer) environment is expected, then stronger material might be need. Infill 20% cubic, 2 wall lines. Pipe Clamp Material recommended: PLA or TPU. If harsher (warmer) environment is expected, then stronger material might be need. Infill 30% cubic, 3 wall lines for more strength. Adjust settings to personal experience. Designed for FDM printing. ### Materials Needed The material listed is needed material for the setup shown in the pictures. Material list can be adjusted if a different setup is used.

6x Extendable broom handle (maximum length according to ceiling height)
4x Nut M4. Winged nut possible.
4x Screw M4x50mm. Winged screw possible for easier assembly.
6x Compression Spring 9x20mm
Adhesive Felt Pads
(tools) Scissors
### Assembly Instructions The assembly instructions are given for the setup shown in the pictures. To shown the versatility of the Thing the setup shown uses a maximum variety of available parts. Read all instructions and adjust assembly according to intended setup.

Print 3x Handle Connector (PLA).
Print 4x Spring Pad_flat (PLA).
Print 2x Foot_spring_ no spikes (TPU).
Print 2x Foot_no spring_spikes (TPU).
Print 2x Pipe Clamp (PLA).
Remove supports from all printed parts.
Assemble Vertical Bars:
Connect broom handles with Handle Connectors. Reduce length of brooms to minimum.
(optional) Cut felt pad with scissors to diameter of Foot.
Attach felt pads to flat parts of Foot_spring_no spikes.
Put Spring Pad into Foot_no spring_spikes, with round part facing to opening.
Put one Foot_no spring_spikes on end of one connected broom handle. Make sure to not put both on the same broom handle.
Insert springs into Foot_spring_no pikes. Make sure the springs are vertically. Depending on print tolerances, the springs might hold in the holes by themselves.
Put Spring Pad into Foot_spring_no pikes. Make sure that the holes for the springs are pointing towards the springs.
Put assembled Foot_spring_no spikes on free end of connected broom handle and place non-springed end on ground (if springed end is placed on ground, then vertical bar might become loose when weight is placed on it, depending on spring strength).
Carefully extend broom handles until upper end touches the ceiling. Put a little bit of pressure towards springed foot, then tighten the handle.
Repeat above steps for second vertical bar. Place both vertical bars in required distance.
Assemble Horizontal Bar:
Connect remaining broom handles with Handle Connector. Set length of brooms to need length.
Insert M3 nuts into pipe clamps and mount pipe clamps with M3 screws in needed height on both vertical bars.
Place remaining connected broom handle in pipe clamp on boths ends and fix with M3 screws in pipe clamp.
Done.
If you like what I'm doing you can [Support me on Ko-Fi](https://ko-fi.com/T6T4DXTSD) [28 Jul 2023]
