94-04 Mustang Automatic Shift Cover/Indicator

There's a piece in my 95 Mustang that fills the slot around the gear selector. It has a colored part that indicates which gear the car is in. The car is 20yrs old, and this piece has finally broken into several pieces. This is a model to replace that piece. I designed this by measuring off my 95 Mustang GT, but I'm fairly certain it will fit any 94-04 model with automatic transmission and the original shifter. Openscad file is attached. Licensed for non-commercial use. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 100% Notes: I'm printing on glass without a raft. This leaves the bottom surface extremely smooth (notice the glare/reflection in the photos). I went with 0.3mm layers for speed. I'm hoping the part will last another 20 years, so 100% infill, ABS Post-Printing The original is 1 solid part, with 2 other parts fit around it and glued/melted together. To avoid separating those other parts, I created my model in 2 parts which are inserted and then glued together. 1 - Print the pieces out. If you print the smaller piece with bright plastic, you can skip painting it. 2 - The little tab on the smaller part is the gear indicator. Paint this part. 3 - Insert the smaller part. Start by sliding the indicator tab into place through the big oval hole. Then align the black part. 4 - Slide the large printed piece in from either end (P or 1). As it slides past the smaller printed piece, make sure the larger piece is on top. Keep sliding it until the circular holes align. 5 - From the back side, super glue the two printed pieces together. These pieces should get stuck together, but remain free to slide back and forth in the channel they are in. 6 - Let the glue dry then reassemble the car. 7 - Test it. Make sure the gap is covered when the selector is in P or 1. Make sure the indicator properly shows which gear the car is in. Step 3 Step 4 Step 5. The is the view from the back side.
