A 3D visualization of solar coronal mag.

sketchfab

Contour surfaces are for where the radial component of solar coronal magnetic field is zero, i.e. the boundary between the regions of opposite solar coronal magnetic field polarities, outward-to-heliosphere or toward-the-Sun. This boundary region is of importance in solar/helio-physics as it is prone to the places and/or sources of high magnetic activity in the solar corona, solar wind regions and whole heliosphere. The sphere represents the solar surface, for reference. This is my very first test of using the sketchfab, and the 3D data (.obj) are indeed converted from a WRL (VRML) file I made via my FORTRAN code from 3D magnetic field model sometime long ago… To-do: texture (actual data image), general color, and transparency.
