A lens grinding die for experimental 3D printed lenses

thingiverse

I have made this as a hand grinding die for a Plano-concave optical element. The goal is to ultimately create a meniscus lens capable of producing 4x5 photographs. There is an internal manifold for supplying water during the grinding process. It may end up being further modified with grooves in the grinding surface for slurry clearing. When slicing, I chose Thick walls, (3mm) as this grinding die will itself be polished by the grinding process. Designed and oriented for printing with touching build plate supports.
