A Sturdier and Still Cheap Filament Turntable

A Sturdier and Still Cheap Filament Turntable

This is a derivative work of my previous "A Very Cheap Filament Turntable" The previous worked fine, but I got local supply for my ABS filament, and it's rolled in a larger diameter. Instead of cutting a bigger piece of cardboard, I decided it's time to make it sturdier. Instructions Make a hole in the center of the plastic saucer (punch, drill, whatever.) The hole should be able to let your bolt through. You can replace the saucer with an expanded polystyrene container comes with one's birthday cake, but ABS washers will be suggested in this case. Fix the bolt on the saucer with 2 nuts. I added an ABS washer, but it's optional. The weight of the filament roll applies only on the marbles, the bolt is to keep the turning centered. 2.1 If you use expanded polystyrene container instead, you might want to print 2 ABS washers and sandwich the expanded polystyrene container with them. Put the CD case up-side-down, and place glass marbles on the gutters. (Most pudding cases should have a gutter in the back, some of my 50-disks cases don't, and they can't stand still up-side-down, either.) Have the saucer sit on top of the marbles with the bolt in the center hole. Voila, you've got a very sturdy turntable. I use a 3M command adhesive thing on the wall for filament guide. It worked perfect.
