Our makerspace does not have many overhanging spaces from which to mount a traditional paper towel holder. Tabletops are always tried to keep clear for creators to do their work on, so a paper towel stand wouldn't work for our space, either. We do, however, have plenty of pegboard to mount things - hence the creation of this **Paper Towel Bracket for Pegboard Rods** to make dispensing (and finding :-) paper towels easier. The brackets slip over [this style of straight peg hooks for 1/4" pegboard](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-10-in-Zinc-Plated-Steel-Single-Straight-Peg-Hook-1-4-in-Peg-18037/202305522), including having a extra gap so the "knob" on the end of the hook can pass through, too. NOTE: The rods we had were 10" long, but as you can probably see from the picture, they don't need to be that long. We'll probably replace them with shorter ones in the future since that will fit the diameter of our paper towel rolls better. Also, the opening is sized for a 1" dowel that the paper towel roll will actually sit on. It is a snug friction fit, so the dowel doesn't spin easily. Lastly, there are openings for M3 screws that act as locking screws to hold the bracket in place on the rods, and the wooden dowel as well. 4mm was the perfect length to achieve the locking. So in summary, these additional items should be used with these brackets to make it all work as a paper towel station: - (3 minimum, 10 maximum) M3x4mm machine screws - (2) 1/4" pegboard rods - (cut to length) 1" diameter wooden dowel *NOTE: The sizes of the openings for the locking screws and dowel can all be changed to fit your needs using the links and notes in the "How I Designed This" section below.* Finally, there are two different versions of this bracket uploaded to this page. One has a central rib that connects the spokes within the bracket - like what is posted in the pictures. The other does not have that rib. I used the latter in my prototype so it would print faster when I was testing the opening sizes, and it seemed to work just as well as my ribbed one has so far. Both are available.
