A4988 Heatsink Locator Template

This is an A4988 Heat sink Locator Template which allows you to position the heat sink in a consistent way. I made this for my A4988 controllers (X3 for CNC) to improve the heat sink position to clear other components. See Photos for usage and the final position achieved. A4988 PCB's may vary a lot so best to test position by printing one and see that you are happy with position. If not adjust the template in openscad and re-print. There are just two offsets ( x and y) from the center of the PCB for the heat sink window. I went through four revisions to get one i was happy with (see photos). Also before applying check the heat sink under a magnifier some are poorly cut and need de-burring / filing / sanding to get loose metal off. Best to clean as best you can before sticking on. I also checked the Voltage rails are not shorted after fitting heat sink with multi-meter as a paranoid test before powering up. The Openscad file is included. Design is upside down.
