A8 Easy Filament Accessa and Supports vA2
thingiverse
A fresh take on my design - incorporating feedback and suggestions from others. The core concept remains unchanged, although I've addressed an issue with the "A8" as "holes," which were prone to nil connections. To rectify this, I added a 0.5mm line to secure them in place. I created a test piece by chopping off a copy of the enclosure and ran it through a trial. Cleaning the inner edges with a scalpel took only 30 seconds. This design is a reworked version of my previous iteration - "Easy Filament Access Gate." The extruder wires always appeared vulnerable to me, and after experiencing a heater block that came loose, I decided they needed additional support. To add an aesthetic touch, I also wanted to keep them tidy. I eliminated separate fan cover components and incorporated a right-side panel that covers the motor, along with a "clip" to hold the extruder wires in place. Two holes at the top allow for a zip tie to secure the wires, while above it, I created a piece that fits over the right-top bearing block (enlarged the holes due to varying bearing sizes and to enable smooth sliding). The filament access gate was prone to popping open; extending the arm didn't work well as it became too large to fit beside the motor. To resolve this, I added a part at the top that allows a simple rubber band to secure it in place. If your Anet (or other) board permits "Pause Printing," you can change filament colors and continue printing without interruption. The entire assembly is secured by the two blower fan screws; however, you might need to use longer screws. The printed Fan/heat sink gate hinges are functional but perform better with either the new Cura Tree support or the standard support that only touches the bed.
