A8 I3 belt tensioner 608 ball bearing

thingiverse

**Basic belt tensioner for a cheap i3 clone, as the original tensioners came without a bearing and were already grinding into the plastics. ** It uses cheap and readily available 608 skateboard bearings. You can press a piece of 8mm pipe through the bearing to attach it to the part. A M8 screw would probably also work fine. Use a nut to secure it in place. The back is designed to fit tightly into the cutout in my printer, to eliminate play between the tensioner and the casing of the printer and therefore reduce any slack in the axis. ---------------- ### Installation: 1. insert M3 screw into the tensioner 2. (optional) secure screw with some glue to avoid it spinning free. 3. Insert 608 skateboard bearing 4. pressfit 8mm pipe into bearing and tensioner 5. secure pipe with a tiny dab of glue 6. throw it onto your printer!
