I have devices that like to drain batteries and then suffer leakage, (and one AAA device in particular), so I like to keep the batteries outside the device. Here's a case aiming for minimal size and reduced material, while maintaining sufficient strength to be durable. Friction fit lid designed with .05mm radius clearance around the lower case.
Fit works perfectly with my print in PLA, and through multiple prints.

Also great for keeping a spare set safe in gear bags.

Print instructions

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Resolution: .30

Infill: 20% gyroid

Filament: Hatchbox PLA Yellow
Notes:

Designed with .30 layer height and .40 nozzle in mind for rapid build. Should work at smaller layer heights as well, with any other color or filament.
Print time for case (body and lid) at same time is about 1 hr 23 minutes.

How I Designed This

I used Fusion 360 to sketch this from scratch, as a parametric design (all sketch dimensions are drawn from a parameters list). Also, i design one half of the case (e.g. just holding 2 batteries) and then mirror the body before any final surface features (such as embossed or engraved text).

After an .stl is output from Fusion, I run it through Netfabb to check/fix any errors before posting to Thingiverse. Hopefully you will find the objects to be trouble-free to slice and print!

Related Design

See also: 3AAA Battery Box for three AAA batteries.

See also: AA Battery Box for three AA Batteries.

See also: C Battery Box.
