i hacked together an ABS fume hood for my printer. i have a roll of plastic that only extrudes at 250º so i had to do something. if i stick my face between the fan and the cupcake it STINKS of abs fumes. there is no smell whatsoever in the exhaust. if i run the printer for a while without the fan on the entire room stinks, after turning the fan on it cleared the whole room in about 15 min. I have been using it for a few days now, not sure how long the carbon in the filter will last. Instructions you will need. lots of hot glue a bunch of cardboard a good adjustable speed computer fan a charcoal cabin air filter for a car. i used a VW jetta carbon cabin air filter sharp knife optional paint build the enclosure and hot glue the crap out of all of the seams. hot glue the filter into the frame/hood you made making sure there are no holes or gaps. hot glue the fan into the hood. i hot glued the whole thing to the shelf above my cupcake. i used this fan,http://tinyurl.com/64bjpud (amazon link to a silverstone 120mm fan) it pushes an insane amount of air, is very quiet (about the same as the power supply) and is adjustable. it can pull enough air at the lowest setting to more than keep up with the fumes and its nearly silent at that speed. i painted it with the remnants of a can of black spray-paint i had
