This is tool to coat a glass bed with ABS slurry. I use both gluestick and abs slurry for printing with ABS. The gluestick is for normal prints. If the print needs to have a very smooth and shiny bottom, I print on abs slurry. Sadly after every print the slurry coat need to be re-done. Coating the glass with a slurry is surprising simple: Do a small amount of acetone on the clean! glass. Use the abs spreader to spread out the acetone over the glass bed. This will dissolve a small amount of the spreader to coat the glass with. Better remove the glass from the printer when coating it in case some of the acetone drops of the glass. A melted printer is not a good sight. The acetone will evaporate very fast, so after a couple of minutes you are left with a beautiful coated glass bed. Acetone is not very good for your health, so don't inhale to much. A syringe very useful to store and apply the acetone on the bed. They will not dissolve in acetone. Use a blunt needle or applicator tip. After using just but the lid back on and store the syringe upright. The acetone will not evaporate. The spreaders are stackable. Print out two spreaders. Then you can store the wet one on top of the other. Or print one for every color you need. The abs slurry on the glass forms the bottom layer of any prints. Therefore use ABS for the spreader that is not visible in the later print. So use either transparent ABS or use ABS in the same color as the where you going to print with. Print Settings Printer: mendel90 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 90% to 100% essential Notes: Must be printed in ABS (nobrainer ! )
