Accessible Violin Rest

Wethersfield High School Jets Engineering Design team, located in Wethersfield Connecticut, was tasked with developing a violin rest for a student in our district who had a medical port implanted in her upper chest, which made it impossible to use a standard violin rest. This rest was designed to be compatible with that port, and a variety of other ports, by eliminating contact in the area. It was also designed to be highly adjustable, enabling a variety of people to use the rest if necessary. This design should fit a standard 4/4 or 3/4 violin, but may support others as well. Required parts: 2x Macmaster part #91280A132 10 mm M4x0.7 standard hex bolts 2x Kun Bracket, foot, and thumb nut from https://a.co/d/ifzTJaM Others may work, but these have been tried and tested 16.5 inches minimum of closed cell EPDM foam (.5 in by .25 in) Macmaster part #93725K134 Glue: We found contact cement or superglue worked the best for securing the foam
